In contrast to conventional 2D materials, Spacer Fabric combines two different fabrics connected by microfilament yarn to provide a breathable, 3D "microclimate" across layers. This extremely porous layer absorbs heat and moisture as they exit the body. The cold air produced by this natural ventilation then expels the heat and moisture, maintaining the desired temperature and maximising air circulation. To create a three-dimensional knit fabric, two distinct knitted surfaces are linked or maintained apart by spacer yarns.
Where do we use it?
Spacer material in various forms and sizes, such as Tennis shoes, backpacks, and car seat cushions, all utilise this fabric because of its excellent breathability, making it ideal for regular usage. Additionally, Spacer is perfect for surfaces of extended rest because of its soft, cushiony character, which lowers force. Many European nations have switched from spring and foam to Spacer cloth because it is lighter and more breathable than conventional beds.
